Course Description

Introduction to the Coast Guard Auxiliary prepares new members for effective service in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. It is a foundational course designed to supplement and enhance existing knowledge of the Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary core values, uniforms, history, ranks, career development and basic administrative procedures. This coast requires students to work with their Unit Officer to create an Individual Development Plan (IDP).

Assignments

  • Individual Development Plan (IDP) created with a mentor

  • Complete Auxiliary BQII:

    • 7 courses online via the CG Auxiliary Online Classroom: https://classroom2.cgaux.org/moodle/login/index.php

    • Must have an AUXID to access

  • Complete Aux Core Training:

    • Workforce Resilience Training ○ Security Fundamentals ○ Privacy at DHS: Protecting Personal Information ○ Sexual Harassment Prevention ○ Civil Rights Awareness ○ Ethics 1 / Personal Gifts

    • Via the Auxiliary Learning Management Site:

    • Must have an AUXID to access

Verification of Completion:

Once you have completed the above course work, please submit the “Course Completion Form” so that this course is added to your AUP transcript. You will need to attach the following items when you submit:

  • Copy/screenshot of IDP

  • Screenshot from online classroom or AUX Data II showing that you have achieved BQII status

  • Screenshot/s from AUX LMS or AUX Data II showing that you have completed each of the core training modules
