Introduction AUP actively seeks to sustain strong units via the Unit SOP. This SOP outlines critical processes focused on the areas enumerated below. . Schools for prospective new units are either identified in advance by the AUP national staff and Coast Guard Recruiting Command, with local district input, or are "self-identified" by a local flotilla, student already attending the school who wishes to begin a new unit, or by the school itself.
