Twelve AUP students convened in Washington, DC from the weekend of 7 April 2017. Unit Washington, Unit Virginia Tech, Unit Hampton Roads, Unit San Diego, and Remote Collaborative Unit (RCU) were represented over the weekend. Highlights of the weekend included participating in drills and visiting Station Washington and Coast Guard Headquarters.
Jacob Thayer, an Auxiliary University Programs alumnus currently serving as a Project Management Branch Chief in Strategic Planning, said he was "quite surprised and honored" to learn that he was recently named the 2014 Auxiliarist of the Year.

Auxiliary University Programs Unit Washington, with the sponsorship of Flotilla Northern Virginia (054-25-12), hosted an AUP Operations Weekend on June 28-30, 2013. Students and staff from AUP Unit Washington, The College of William and Mary, Auburn University, and the Remote Collaborative Unit reported to Columbia Island Marina Saturday morning for an all-hands briefing, detailing three main operations for the coming days.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In a world when many “catch” dinner between commitments, it is rare to find one seated in the company of good friends, shipmates, and guests under a common roof and at a common table. For the students, staff, guests, and partners of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary University Programs (AUP), March 23rd at the Fort McNair Officers’ Club in Washington, D.C. was such an occasion.
